Back Home

The ministry of Back Home is a true example of the parable of the Prodigal Son.  The ups and downs of life are all too familiar to Jimmy and Jennifer Layne.  Through suffering several miscarriages, one to a set of twins, Jimmy's struggle with major drug and alcoholism problems and  losing both of their well-established jobs within three days of each other, the faithfulness of God has revealed itself time and time again.  Journeying through their pain and heartache together, songwriting is the therapy that gets Jimmy and Jennifer through the tough times.  Raw and heartfelt lyrics that can only come from "real life" experience accompany beautiful melodic tunes that are sure to touch the hearts of the young, old and everyone in between.  

Jimmy and Jennifer are no strangers to the music industry.  Twenty-six year veterans of vocal session work, they are two of the most sought after background singers in the country and gospel music industries.  While holding jobs in corporate America, the Layne's managed to build a reputation as two of the most efficient and hardworking session singers around allowing them to build relationships with some of today's leading country and gospel artists.  Knowing that God had called them into full-time ministry, Jimmy and Jennifer took a step of faith and started Back Home Ministries.
