"Not only are Jimmy and Jennifer Layne gifted singers, but they've both lived through trials and struggles which has given them front row seats to witness God's power, provision, wisdom, and grace, first hand. That kind of life experience is expressed in their ability to deliver vocal performances with deep sincerity and conviction. They really shine on this collection of songs."

"I'm really enjoying getting to work with new group BACK HOME though I hesitate to use the word new. Jimmy and Jennifer are veteran singers with tons of performance and studio experience to draw on for their work together. They are both equally talented and with the different influences they bring to BACK HOME, it allows us the freedom to pull from a wide range of material. These are real people with real talent and real-life human experiences, both wonderful and painful that they are allowing God to use to glorify Himself! That's why I'm proud to be a part of the music that they are making!"

LAMP MUSIC SIGNS BACK HOME (story added March 16)

Lamp Music Group is pleased to announce the addition of the dynamic new group Back Home of South Pittsburg, TN to their Gospel Heritage Label roster.

This fresh new group consists of veteran gospel singers, Jimmy and Jennifer Layne. The Laynes have also been an in demand studio background vocal team for many years. In fact their voices can be heard on scores of gospel and country recording projects from artists all over the world!

The group name is inspired by the parable of the prodigal son.

Gospel Music has definitely been a big part of their lives, in fact Jennifer's cousin is Heirline founder Ernie Dawson. Stylistically the group is performing a wide variety of material ranging from southern gospel to modern adult contemporary with a country-gospel twist. Their music ministry is truly hard to describe and can ultimately appeal to a diverse audience.

The group begins work this April with veteran producer, Mike Pillow with an anticipated street date for the new project to be early summer.

They currently have a single at radio entitled: "Hearts In A Different Place" on the Rick Hendrix Sampler and is getting great response.
